Nightmare confirmed for Joe Tate in Emmerdale ahead of Dawn exit
The following article contains spoilers from the episode of Emmerdale dated July 26. It hasn’t aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX and YouTube.
A seed of paranoia has been planted in Joe Tate’s (Ned Porteous) mind in Emmerdale.
Over the past few days, Joe’s partner Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) has been growing jealous over Billy Fletcher’s (Jay Kontzle) relationship with Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham).
Throughout Dawn’s new romance with Joe, Billy has been single. He’s been focused on rebuilding his life after his marriage fell apart, and hasn’t thought much about finding another girlfriend.

This has created a bit of an illusion for Dawn, as she’s convinced herself that she’s totally moved on from Billy. As a result of seeing him be affectionate with someone else, that carefully built belief has started to unravel.
Dawn got quite the shock in today’s episode, as she found Gabby collapsed on the floor.
Gabby headed to an appointment at the surgery a few hours later, where Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) suggested doing a pregnancy test for peace of mind.
The young woman actually collapsed because she’s been hyperfocusing on what food she puts in her body.
When she got back to Home Farm, she announced to Dawn that she isn’t pregnant, but has decided to stop her birth control medication, believing that she shouldn’t add chemicals into her body.

Dawn then met Billy in the cafe and updated him about what Gabby went through that morning. She referenced the time Gabby fell asleep at the wheel as a result of not eating properly, and began to wonder if something simimilar was happening this time.
Unfortunately, Gabby was never going to react well to comments from her boyfriend’s ex. Even though Dawn was genuinley concerned about Gabby’s relationship with food, she just viewed it as Dawn being jealous that she was with Billy.
Irritated at Dawn, Gabby got revenge later that day when she found Joe.
She stated that she doesn’t think Dawn is over Billy, and backed this up by revealing that they had a secret meeting.
The expression on Joe’s face suggested that he’s had a few niggling thoughts about Billy and Dawn for a little while, and things are potentially going to get even worse ahead of Dawn’s final scenes in the show.
This new video teases what will happen next week for the character.
During a moment together, Billy almost kisses Dawn. Just after this happens, Joe walks in, but Dawn isn’t quite sure just how much he witnessed.
As Billy and Dawn attempt to convince themselves that Joe didn’t see anything between them, he walks in and announces that he’s organised a family lunch.
Joe invites Billy, but he quickly claims that he’s got work. Billy’s forced to agree to the offer though, when Joe points out that he’s entitled to a lunch break.
Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) then walks in and immediately grows suspicious when Joe asks him and Kim Tate (Claire King) to attend as well.
Graham knows that Joe is up to something, but what exa
