Medical emergency as Gabby collapses in Emmerdale – and doctors miss the cause
Gabby Thomas’ (Rosie Bentham) nearest and dearest are about to get their biggest clue yet in Emmerdale that all is not well with the entrepreneur, but will they notice?
Gabby’s developed an obsession with nutrition but so far, the signs have been subtle, and no one can be blamed for not realising the depths of her fixation.

What hasn’t helped is the fact she’s got a new boyfriend Billy (Jay Kontzle), who happens to also be in the fitness and nutrition industry and backs her healthy living, inadvertently playing into her obsession.
The signs are becoming oh so slightly more obvious – like Gabby stopping her son from having a frozen lolly for believing it to be too impure for him. Not to mention her stopping the poor lad from attending a friend’s birthday because of the food being served.
But still, such tiny things have not yet been noticed.
Gabby is incredibly proud of her new interest in clean eating and plasters it all over social media. She feels a bit dizzy while doing so but shakes it off.
Bad move, as it’s not just a ‘dizzy spell’ – Dawn finds her unconscious on the kitchen floor.

Things are escalating, and Dawn urges her to see Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker). Gabby surprisingly agrees and takes herself off to see the GP at the first opportunity.
Problem is, Manpreet doesn’t see the signs and Gabby doesn’t think she has a problem. Manpreet notices Gabby’s blood pressure is low and considers pregnancy to be the cause. That would be an awkward outcome for Dawn, but she needn’t worry, Gabby is soon given the all clear on that front.
While Manpreet doesn’t find a thing, Gabby continues on her healthy living crusade and makes a move that frightens Dawn – she ditches her birth control.
Given that Dawn is in no way ok with Gabby dating Billy, this is a huge problem.

Dawn takes matters into her own hands and blabs to Billy the new state of affairs, secretly hoping it might make him see sense, much to Gabby’s absolute chagrin.
This is a risky move by Dawn now, as it piques Joe’s suspicions that Gabby might be right – that Dawn does still have feelings for Billy.
But while all this distraction is going on, and Joe (Ned Porteous) seemingly just misses a kiss between Dawn and Billy (but did he?!), Gabby is getting sicker.
Will anyone notice in time, or is there more bad news to come?
