Emmerdale reveals Dr Todd’s past crime in emotional new scenes
Emmerdale revealed some of the past crimes that were committed by Dr Caitlin Todd, with Charity Dingle being at the centre of an emotional scene as the villain’s horrific actions came into focus.
Earlier this year, Dr Todd bullied Jacob Sugden at the workplace, before setting her sights on other residents of the village. She blackmailed Charity regarding Leyla’s parentage, and then sexually assaulted her.

Tuesday’s (21 July) episode of the ITV soap began with Charity vowing to plough ahead after she learned that the investigation had been dropped, though Mack urged her to reach out to the support group once again.
After Charity said that she was “fine”, Mack and Vanessa Woodfield prepared to approach Jacob as they wanted to learn more about Todd’s conduct at the hospital, including if there were any other cases.
Vanessa headed to the hospital and apologised to Jacob for not believing his side of the story, and asked if he had heard anything else about Todd’s conduct. He pointed her in the direction of Carol, a worker in the HR department.
Carol stressed that she couldn’t release any details, mainly in the fear that she could lose her job. Though she didn’t give any information directly, she did leave a document for Vanessa to collect from the printer.
Charity soon caught wind that Mack and Vanessa were working together, and headed to the hospital to find out more. As she criticised Vanessa for her sneaky behaviour, a worker named Helen overheard that they were talking about Todd.
As Helen prepared to leave the room after becoming overwhelmed, Charity shared that Todd had raped her too. Helen soon recounted her story, and said that Todd had sexually assaulted her after she turned down her advances.

The vindictive Todd made a “baseless” claim about Helen as “punishment”, with Helen believing that Todd had orchestrated various scenarios to increase her standing at the hospital. Fearing that she wouldn’t be believed, Helen kept quiet about the situation.
Though Helen felt “powerless” over the years, Charity said that they had the opportunity to get justice by bringing Todd down – but only if they worked together. Helen said that she would think about it, giving Charity some hope for the future.
