Emmerdale’s Cain and Moira to face fresh tensions in tragic story
Emmerdale‘s Cain and Moira Dingle haven’t had the smoothest ride this year, with cancer diagnoses and a stint in prison causing major distance between the pair. And unfortunately tensions will continue to rise this week, leading to a life-or-death situation.
Earlier this month, the family received even more devastating news when Paddy Dingle explained that their dog Monty has cancer. Though he was diagnosed with prostate cancer himself, Cain’s only thought was of his beloved pet.

Emmerdale – Cain and Moira’s tension over Monty
Despite being told that Monty’s tumours are inoperable, Cain has been determined to get a second opinion. But his pursuit of treatment for the dog has caused friction in the house as he has begun to neglect his own needs and the needs of his family.
In Wednesday’s episode, frustrated Moira attempts to reach out to her husband, who she fears is avoiding his own treatment. She suggests going with him to the vet but he brushes her off.

“Cain, I know how committed you are to this. Just remember that the results will probably be the same,” she tells him in a newly released spoiler clip.
He assures her that the vet is an “expert” and when she reminds him that Monty’s cancer is “really far gone”, he snaps at her.
“We’re not giving up on him, alright? Not while we’ve still got options,” he retorts.

Moira quickly backs off, telling him she’s just trying to manage his expectations, but Cain makes it clear he isn’t in the mood to discuss it further. He storms off with the dog, leaving Moira stressed about the precarious state of her family.
Meanwhile, next week, Moira continues to push Cain to face his other troubles – namely spending more time with Kyle, who is struggling at cadets. Realising he has been neglecting his son, Cain takes him camping on a boys’ trip.
However, Cain is fuming when he sees Kyle has invited his recent mentor Graham Foster and storms off into the woods following an argument. Later, Cain suffers a nasty injury after a fall – with no one around to help him.
With his leg trapped under a log, will someone find him before it’s too late?
