cor blimey Coronation Street fans work out Mollie Gallagher’s exit storyline for Nina as they spot massive clue

CORONATION Street fans think they’ve cracked how Mollie Gallagher will leave the show.

Mollie who plays Nina Lucas on the cobbles is leaving the ITV soap and her last scenes will air in August.

Coronation Fans think they’ve worked out how Mollie Gallagher’s Nina will leave the soap

Sydney Martin as Betsy Swain in Coronation Street.

They’ve guessed it has something to do with Betsy Swain played by Sydney Martin

Before her final episodes hit our tellies, fans have been trying to work out what her exit might look like.

One person took to Reddit with a theory that Nina might finally pursue her lifelong dream to study fashion after working at the Roy’s Rolls cafe for years.

They hypothesised that Nina will take the place of Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) who told her family last month that she would be going to London for fashion college.

But Betsy was recently rushed to hospital where it was revealed she had suffered a stroke due a blood clot caused by neck artery damage from a temporary loss of circulation.

She admitted her boyfriend Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne) had strangled her during consensual sex.

“Let me be super clear, this is not a spoiler in and of itself, but a theory based on the current story and upcoming spoiler. Read accordingly,” began the fan on Reddit.

“We all know this isn’t how the real world works, but we were all surprised by Betsy SUDDENLY getting super into fashion and heading to London for schooling. That used to be Nina’s thing.”

The fan then asked: “They’re going to have Nina take Betsy’s spot at the school, aren’t they?

“That’s the only thing I can think of that would make her leave being close to Roy.”

Other Corrie fans debated the theory on the thread and were divided about Nina’s exit.

One fan argued: “Betsy has been into fashion from the start. One of her earliest storylines was getting a job at Underworld to work on her designs, it’s not like it just happened spontaneously.”

Another added: “I love Nina but she didn’t do A levels at all, she works in a cafe. Very different pathways. She’s amazing and creative, but they’re different.”

And a third wrote: “LMAO was about to say the exact same thing – that’s not how universities/higher ed institutions in Britain in 2026 work at all… but Corrie always portray these things with like 15% accuracy so as a storyline this is perfectly plausible.”

Mollie is leaving Corrie after almost seven years on the Cobbles but has already scored another gig.

She is set to appear in independent film I Like This Boy, which is billed as a psychological thriller.

The film follows a girl called Daphne, who falls in love with a boy in her class and obsessively starts writing and drawing about him in her journal.

She convinces herself that he is the perfect boy for her but her obsession then turns into a nightmare.

Mollie, who was born in Manchester, was praised for her portrayal of Nina, winning the award for Serial Drama Performance at the NTAs in 2021.

Her character was part of an intense storyline that saw her boyfriend Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni) die after sustaining injuries in a violent attack.
