Coronation Street‘s Christina Boyd is still trying to curb her compulsive spending next week, and drags unsuspecting Todd Grimshaw into her web of deceit!

When she realises Todd is due a windfall, Christina is keen to cosy up to her housemate, hoping he can get her out of debt. Will Todd willingly part with his cash to help the spiralling spendaholic?

“She might have come clean to George about her secret splurges and promised to stop, but Christina still hasn’t managed to completely kick the habit,” explains our Corrie insider.

“Packages are still arriving, proving she can’t resist the odd online purchase. Todd is being supportive, but Christina is about to put him in a very tricky position…”

Despite claiming she’s stopped her obsessive spending, having confessed she took out credit cards in Mary Taylor and Glenda Shuttleworth’s names, Todd realises Christina isn’t being completely honest when a parcel is delivered to number 11 with her name on it!

Caught out, Christina is forced to confess she’s struggling not to treat herself at the click of a button, but promises she’s trying her best to change her ways.

“George later spies the package and fears Chrissie is up to her old tricks – so Todd pretends it’s for him to put his pal off the scent,” continues our spy. “Out of earshot from George, Christina is grateful to Todd for covering for her, but he insists that’s the last time he does it and she needs to get a grip on her addiction.”

Todd admits to stunned Summer that Christina is telling George porkies, and the pair ponder how long this situation can continue before the truth comes out.

Meanwhile, Christina gets wind that Todd is soon to receive the money from Theo’s life insurance policy and is considering giving it all away. Perhaps Todd will take pity on her financial predicament and pay off her debt?

George is also short of cash since his business hit hard times after he was accused of conning customers – maybe Todd will gift him some money? It soon transpires that Todd has other ideas…

“Todd announces he’s booked flights for him and Summer to visit Eileen and Jason in Thailand,” reveals our source. “Christina is pretty put out – she was practically spending the dosh she thought could solve all her problems.”

Has Todd changed his mind at the last minute and decided to keep the payout after all? And will Christina finally be honest with George?
